What I'm doing this month

A snapshot, not a roadmap. Inspired by Derek Sivers' /now convention. Updated when life shifts, not when the calendar flips.

Building

  • With the team, building a confidential but very important app for kids and teens. Deadline: August. Bolalar Production's current priority.
  • ichki-ijro KPI module — three big refactors, one done, two ahead.
  • ilm-ahli is integrating a Stripe-style local payment gateway.

Reading

  • Designing Data-Intensive Applications — Kleppmann. Third pass.
  • Postgres 17 release notes — line by line.
  • UX literature on children's products. Not my domain — fast becoming.

Learning

  • How to write better runbooks — the last on-call showed ours are too dense.
  • Onboarding for children's products. Starter-grade; moving.
  • Rust, in the small. Probably won't move off Java, but the experiments are fun.

Not doing

  • Twitter / X. Quiet since February.
  • New side projects. I keep one alive; the rest are in a closed drawer.
  • Conference travel. One talk this autumn already booked — enough.
